Rotifers

What is a Rotifer?

Rotifers are found all around the world. Most commonly found in freshwater, some species have also adapted to life in brackish and saltwater or even moist locations on land. In these environments they can be planktonic, sessile.  The species we culture (L-type) are euryhaline, meaning they can live in a wide range of salinities, making them suitable for use in your reef.

General care and use of Rotifers in a reef tank

Rotifers are a valuable addition to any reef system, and you can never have too many in your tank! Fish and coral consume copepods as well as other ornamental fish or larval fish.

It is best to try and maintain a large healthy population in any reef tank.
